Q: I noticed that your address is UK based, but you have an Irish domain name. do you have a store in Ireland?

A: Before we started Microchoice, customers would purchase from is in the UK and have to pay in Pounds Sterling. We were granted the use of the domain Microchoice.ie by
the Irish Domain Authority so
decided to launch Microchoice so customers could buy products in their currency and also not have to incur currency conversion charges. All of our products are dispatched from the UK mainly using DPD or sometimes another carrier depending on the weight/size etc.

Q. If I purchase a refurbished computer or laptop, what condition will it be in?

A: All of our refurbished computers and laptops undertake a detailed and thorough reconditioning process. We run extensive hardware diagnostic tests to ensure all the components are fully functional. Hard drives are securely wiped to the highest levels. (MOD Standards) and any components showing signs of wear or stress are replaced. Some computers/laptops may have slight marks and scratches on their cases but these will be cosmetic only. We pride ourselves on only selling the highest quality refurbished products.

Q: What happens about VAT/Duties now the UK has left the EU

A: From 1st January 2021, all items listed on our website will now appear cheaper as they are now zero-rated for VAT. The VAT will be calculated at your local rate and you can choose to prepay this at the checkout to speed up delivery. More info can be found on our delivery info page.

Q. How much is postage and packaging

A: Standard Delivery from €17.50  (5-7 Working Days)  and Express Delivery from  €29.75 ( 3-4 Working Days)

Please note bulk orders and upgraded systems may take longer to process no matter what delivery method you choose, however, they will still be prioritized according to what delivery method has been chosen.

Q. Who will ship my goods?

A. We use DPD Local and other UK carriers depending on your location, smaller items such as components will be shipped
by Royal Mail.

 

Q: What if I am out when the courier company try to deliver?

A: You will receive an email/Text message when your order has been dispatched along with a delivery date.  On the morning of the delivery date, you will receive another email/text message along with a one-hour delivery window, so you know exactly when to expect your delivery. Once more you also have a range of alternative options to choose from as below:

  • - Select an alternative delivery date

  • - Opt for delivery to a nominated neighbour

  • - Have the parcel delivered to a local shop

  • - Have the parcel left in a specified safe place

  • - Collect the parcel from the DPD depot

  •  -Upgrade delivery to before 12
     

Q: What about warranty?

A: We offer 12 months RTB warranty on all refurbished desktops and 6 months warranty refurbished Laptops (unless otherwise stated) This does not cover batteries on refurbished laptops.
